TRAINING

We offer training every Tuesday night from 5.30pm - 6.30pm for all our financial members.

Training will follow our COVID-19 Protocols, please make yourself familiar with these protocols HERE.

Training will cover the main fundamental skills of run, jump and throw events for age groups of U7 to U16. Throughout the season there will also be focus on other aspects of athletics such as starting techniques, blocks, scissor kicks technique, relays, along with specialised sessions for more advanced athletes. We will also utilise this time for athletes who wish to train for the regional and state track and field competitions.

Our training coordinator Phil Powderly has his Level 2 Athletics Coaching accreditation. We also have been lucky enough to have Chris Kadri involved who still competes in senior athletics and comes with an enormous amount of skill and knowledge.

Our training sessions will be coordinated by Phil Powderly. You will see many members with a range of skill sets also assisting Phil on training days.

You are encouraged to bring your own equipment if you like.

If you would like to participate in training you must register your attendance below every week by the Sunday night before that weeks training session so we can plan our sessions according to athlete age groups and skill sets.

PARENTS: We will need your assistance at times during training so please feel free to put your hand up if you would like to help.

PLEASE NOTE: Our NO DROP AND RUN policy still applies at training.
