REGIONAL TRACK & FIELD CARNIVAL

The Regional Track & Field Carnival is the NCR region event that allows athletes to qualify for the respective State Championships. All regions will hold a carnival. Within our NCR region the carnival is shared each year between Albury, Shepparton and Bendigo. The host centre is announced at the begining of each season.

To be eligible to enter the Coles Region Track & Field Carnival, athletes must be registered and be a financial Little Athletics Victoria Competitive Member by the closing date and time for entries. They also must have competed in a minimum of 4 weeks of Centre competition by the close of entries. Only athletes who meet the qualifying requirements at the 2020 Coles Region Track & Field Carnival will be eligible to compete at the State Track & Field Championships.

When: 10th February  2023

Venue: Shepparton

Open to: U9 – U17 athletes.

Entries wont be open until later in the season, keep checking the LAVic website for nomination opening dates.

Please Note: High Jump has particular starting heights for each age group. Please consider these heights when entering this event. 

The following table indicates the High Jump starting height for each age group at the State Track and Field Championship. Note: The U9 & U10 age group is restricted to the scissor technique.

Athletes who fail to clear at least the height listed for their age group at Region Track and Field Carnival will not automatically qualify or be progressed to the State Track and Field Championship Final.

Region Track & Field Carnivals starting heights will be set at 10cm below the State starting heights for each age group.

STATE TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The only way to be eligible for the State Championships is to have qualified at a Regional Carnival.

​

The State Track & Field Championships take place over two days in March at Casey Fields.

 

Date: 9th March 2024

Venue: Lakeside Stadium, Melbourne

Open to: Entrants who have qualified at a Region Track & Field Carnival.

UNIFORM

At any Regional or State event there are strict uniform guidelines that need to be adhered to. You much present in centre approved uniform and no unapproved branding or logos larger than 40mm x 40mm. For the full brief of uniform requirements for Regional and State events please click here.

FUN FACT

Did you know why we have the number 58 in our logo?

​

It is because every centre was numbered in order of affiliation date. Meaning we were the 58th centre in Victoria to start up! And that was back in 1976.
