While the summer track and field season is over, it is not the end for Echuca Moama Little Athletics Centre. We are delighted to be able to announce that we will be running a cross country season for our athletes for the very first time in the history of EMLAC.

Our XC season will commence on May 1st 2021 and run from May to July in a 10 week program. The cross country courses will rotate between 3 venues and is open to all new, old and existing members from age groups U6 to U16.

Apart from the obvious fun & fitness of running “off road” in varied conditions, kids love the team atmosphere. Let’s not forget the shorter competition and the personal performances made through out the season.

Centres across the region also hold open days for competition along with regional and state events and also a relay!

To add the cherry on top, EMLAC has also been chosen to host the 2021 Regional Cross Country Carnival run by NCR (Northern Country Region). This will be a great experience for our centre to be part of and great exposure for our community.

It is also leading us on our pathway to eventually hold our own carnivals in the future.

We are very excited to be able to offer this competition to our members and encourage everyone of all abilities to sign up and give cross country a go.

FUN FACT

Did you know why we have the number 58 in our logo?

It is because every centre was numbered in order of affiliation date. Meaning we were the 58th centre in Victoria to start up! And that was back in 1976.
